KADUNA JUDICIAL SERVICE COMMISSION PROMOTES 223 STAFF, SETS SEPTEMBER 5 FOR PROMOTION EXAMINATION
The Kaduna State Judicial Service Commission has approved the promotion of 223 members of staff of the state judiciary to various grade levels across different cadres.
In a statement signed by the Secretary of the Commission, Murtala Salihu Haladu, the approval was reached at the Commission’s meeting held on August 11 and 12, 2026, under the chairmanship of the Chief Judge of Kaduna State, Justice Muhammad Tukur Mu’azu Aliyu. The promotions were based on merit.
Those promoted include 37 Magistrates, 28 Alkali and 22 Customary Court Judges, among other judicial personnel.
The Commission has also commenced online registration of eligible staff for the promotion examination scheduled to hold on September 5, 2026, at three centres in Kaduna, Zaria and Kafanchan
The Commission also adopted the report of a committee set up to investigate allegations of serious misconduct against Mohammed Salisu, a Principal Registrar at the Chief Magistrate Court, Daura Road, Kaduna, over the unauthorised auction of three attached vehicles.
According to the Commission, the committee recommended the prosecution of Salisu while exculpating Aliyu Yakubu Dogara, Deputy Chief Registrar, and Salisu Jibrin Maigana, a bailiff, from complicity in the matter. One of the vehicles, a Toyota Corolla, has since been recovered by the High Court.
In another decision, the Commission approved and adopted new Guidelines for Submission of Petitions in the Judiciary, with immediate implementation.
The decisions, according to the Commission, reaffirm its commitment to upholding high standards of integrity, transparency and efficiency in the administration of justice in Kaduna State.
