The Chairman of the International Trade, Import and Export Conference (ITIEC 2026) and Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of the Kaduna State Enterprise Development Agency (KADEDA), Mr Iliya Anthony Timbuark, has approved the constitution of a committee to organise the Uba Sani Trade and Investment Quiz Competition (US-TiQC 2026).
The quiz competition is one of the flagship programmes of the forthcoming ITIEC 2026 and is designed to promote academic excellence, innovation, entrepreneurship and awareness of trade and investment opportunities among young people.
The committee, according to a statement issued by the ITIEC 2026 Secretariat on Saturday, is chaired by Maryam Shehu, while Dr Bala Reuben serves as Secretary.
Other members of the committee are Dr Sani Abdulrazak, Dr Sulaiman Abubakar, Sulaiman Aliyu Uwais, Hassan Yakubu and Hauwa Shehu Ayinke.
The committee will operate under the supervision of a panel comprising Prof Abdullahi Maikudi Nuhu, also known as Banagan Gudummawar Tudun Wada, as Lead Supervisor; Prof Ibrahim Wasi'u; and Dr Jamila Mohammed.
The Kaduna State Ministry of Education and the Kaduna State Schools Quality Assurance Authority (KSSQAA) will serve as institutional supervisors.
The committee has been charged with the responsibility of planning, coordinating, implementing and monitoring the competition to ensure its successful delivery as part of the major programmes of ITIEC 2026.
The organisers said the initiative was conceived to deepen young people's understanding of trade, investment and entrepreneurship while encouraging innovation, skills development and active youth participation in economic development.
Timbuark, while announcing the constitution of the committee, reaffirmed the conference's commitment to delivering a transparent, credible and world-class competition capable of inspiring the next generation of leaders.
He said the initiative would contribute to educational advancement, private sector development and regional economic integration by equipping young people with relevant knowledge and skills needed to compete in an increasingly interconnected global economy.
The Uba Sani Trade and Investment Quiz Competition is expected to form an integral part of ITIEC 2026's broader youth empowerment agenda, reflecting the conference's commitment to developing globally competitive human capital and supporting sustainable economic growth.
