NAWOJ Kaduna Felicitates with Girls on the International Day of the Girl Child

The Nigeria Association of Women Journalists (NAWOJ), Kaduna State Chapter, has joined the global community in commemorating the International Day of the Girl Child, reaffirming its commitment to promoting the rights, education, and empowerment of girls.

In a statement signed by Chairperson, Sahura Jibrin Maidoki, and Secretary, Hadiza Bello Abdullahi, the association emphasized the need to invest in girls’ leadership, education, and digital inclusion, noting that such investments are key to building a brighter and more equitable future.

NAWOJ Kaduna called on government agencies, development partners, civil society groups, and community leaders to intensify efforts in safeguarding the girl child from all forms of abuse, discrimination, and marginalization, while creating opportunities that allow them to reach their full potential.

“As women journalists, we remain committed to using the power of the media to amplify girls’ voices, promote gender equality, mentorship, and empowerment across Kaduna State and Nigeria,” the statement added.

NAWOJ Kaduna extended warm wishes to all girls, encouraging them to continue striving toward excellence as the world marks this year’s International Day of the Girl Child.
