Nigeria Customs Service Announces Progress on 2025 Recruitment
The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) has released fresh details on its ongoing recruitment exercise, which began with an official advertisement on December 27, 2024.
According to the Service, a total of 573,523 applications were received for the 3,927 vacancies declared across the Superintendent, Inspectorate, and Customs Assistant cadres. Out of this number, 286,697 candidates have been selected to move to the next stage of the process.
The next phase, the Service explained, will be a Computer-Based Test (CBT) scheduled to hold nationwide between September 14 and 21, 2025.
In a statement issued on Wednesday, NCS outlined strict rules for the examination. Candidates are required to use a laptop or desktop computer with a functional webcam, as mobile devices will not be permitted. The test will feature live facial verification during login.
The Service further warned that the CBT software is highly sensitive to noise, body movement, and attempts to switch between windows. Any violation, it said, could result in disqualification. A mandatory pre-test session will also be held two days before the main exam.
For candidates in the Superintendent Cadre (Level 8), an additional CBT will be conducted in the next phase of the recruitment exercise.
The NCS assured Nigerians that the exercise will remain transparent and merit-based, cautioning applicants against bribery, fraud, or reliance on unverified information circulating on social media.
