Gov. Monday Okpebholo's administration Creating Conducive Environment for Western and Islamic Education- Arewa APC Leader


The Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Arewa Community in Edo State, Alhaji Mansur Ibrahim has commended the administration of Governor Monday Okpebholo for providing a conducive environment for both Western and Islamic education in the state.

He made the remark at the Qur’anic graduation ceremony of Khalid Bin Walid Al- majiri Model Primary School Eyaen Cattle Market Benin City Capital of Edo State where twelve pupils graduated after memorizing portions of the Holy Qur’an.

Alhaji Mansur Ibrahim, who also serves as Special Adviser to Governor Monday Okpebholo on Arewa Community Affairs, said parents in Edo State now have equal opportunity to give their children both secular and religious education.

He stated that, Under Governor Monday Okpebholo, parents have the freedom and support to train their children in the teachings of their religion. This is to ensure they grow with good character, discipline and moral values that will make them responsible citizens.

He added that no investment in the education sector is wasted, stressing that education remains the foundation for peace, development and national unity.

The APC stalwart expressed appreciation for the zeal and commitment of the Muslim community in Edo State for prioritizing Islamic education for their children.


According to him, this is a laudable and forward-looking step. Instilling Qur’anic knowledge to the children is a workable way of building their character and projecting a brighter future for them and for society at large.

Alhaji Mansur congratulated the graduands and saluted them for their dedication to memorizing the Holy Qur’an. He urged them to use the knowledge they have acquired to promote peaceful coexistence among diverse communities and to uphold good conduct in society.

The Special Adviser appealed to Islamic scholars, students, and the entire Muslim community to continue praying for Governor Monday Okpebholo to enable him to govern Edo State with wisdom and exemplary leadership.

He expressed delight over the support being given to the present administration and urged the people to maintain the tempo for the overall development of the state.

The management of the Khalid Bin Walid Al- majiri Model Primary School Eyaen Cattle Market Benin city appreciated the Edo State Government and its representatives for attending the graduation ceremony.


According to the school management, the presence of government officials at the event is a symbol of inclusive governance and of a government that carries everyone along irrespective of religion or ethnicity.

They promised to continue teaching peace, tolerance and harmony in the school. This aligns with the vision of Governor Monday Okpebholo’s administration to build a united and prosperous Edo State.

Stakeholders at the event described the ceremony as not just a celebration of Qur’anic memorization, but also a reflection of the government’s commitment to religious tolerance, education and unity in diversity.

The twelve graduants comprised eleven female and one male were received their certificate of Qur'ani Education.
