The Senior Special Assistant to the Kaduna State Governor, Senator Uba Sani on Christian Religious Matters, Rev. Dr. Ishaya Adamu Jangado, has said that Christians in the state have every reason to be optimistic under the present administration due to deliberate efforts to carry them along in governance and decision-making.
Speaking to journalists in Kaduna, Rev. Dr. Jangado stated that since Governor Uba Sani assumed office on May 29th, 2023, Christians in Kaduna State have witnessed remarkable recognition, inclusion and progress compared to previous administrations.
He cited several examples to buttress his claim. According to him, Governor Sani has consistently honored invitations to Christian programs or sent high-level representatives when unable to attend personally.
Rev. Jangado said, beyond that, His Excellency appointed him as Senior Special Assistant on Christian Religious Matters to serve as the official voice of the Christian community within government. He has also reinstated the sponsorship of Christian pilgrimage to Jerusalem among other recommendations aimed at strengthening the faith and welfare of Christians in the state.
The Senior Special Assistant further highlighted the massive infrastructural and social development recorded in Southern Kaduna, a zone predominantly populated by Christians.
He pointed out that, the people of Southern Kaduna are now enjoying the dividends of democracy under this administration. Some of the key projects included the establishment of the Federal University of Applied Sciences Kachia, the Federal Medical Centre Kafanchan, the Modern Skill Acquisition Centre in Samaru Kataf; extensive road networking, upgrading of General Hospitals and Primary Healthcare Centres, improved security of lives and property and various social welfare interventions, to mention but a few.
According to Rev. Ishaya Jangado, these laudable projects and policies have brought renewed hope and joy to the people of Southern Kaduna.
He noted that citizens who once felt marginalized now feel a strong sense of belonging and are beginning to trust government again.
With excitement, the Senior Special Assistant assured both Governor Uba Sani and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu that the people of the zone will reciprocate these gestures by giving them massive support for a second term, so they can continue to enjoy good governance.
Rev. Dr. Ishaya Adamu Jangado reaffirmed his commitment to serving as a bridge between government and the Christian community. He said his mandate includes advising the administration on matters relating to Christian faith, values, welfare and supporting initiatives that promote peaceful coexistence among all religious groups in Kaduna State.
He pledged to remain resolute and diligent in discharging his duties to ensure that the Governor Uba Sani-led administration meets the yearnings and aspirations of the people of Kaduna State.
