In a renewed effort to complement the Kaduna State Government’s poverty alleviation initiatives, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Humanitarian Affairs, Alhaji Ibrahim Rilwan Muhammad, through the IRM Foundation, has enrolled 200 residents within Kaduna metropolis into the Kaduna State Contributory Health Management Agency (KADCHMA) scheme and distributed 100 bags of 10kg rice to vulnerable families.
Speaking during the exercise, the Director General of the IRM Foundation, Alhaji Anas Muhammad, said the gesture aims to cushion the effects of the prevailing economic hardship and reinforce Governor Uba Sani’s commitment to improving the welfare of citizens. He noted that the initiative is part of a broader series of humanitarian interventions designed to empower low-income earners and support the less privileged across the state.
According to him, beneficiaries were carefully selected from diverse communities and faith groups to promote inclusiveness, unity, and social cohesion, emphasizing that humanitarian service transcends political or religious boundaries.
Declaring the enrollment open, the Director General of KADCHMA, Malam Abubakar Hassan, commended the foundation for the partnership and urged other well-meaning individuals and organizations to emulate the initiative. He encouraged beneficiaries to make effective use of the opportunity to secure their health coverage for the next one year.
Leaders of both faith communities in Kaduna also applauded the intervention. The Coordinators of the Tijjaniyya Grassroots Mobilization and Empowerment Initiative of Nigeria, Malama Khadija Hassan and Abdulaziz Muhammad Imam, expressed appreciation to the Special Adviser for his compassion and commitment to serving humanity, describing the gesture as “a reflection of true leadership.”
Similarly, the Chairman of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Kaduna Chapter, Reverend Caleb Maaji, lauded Alhaji Rilwan Muhammad for fostering unity and empathy among residents. He urged other public officials and well-meaning citizens to emulate such impactful interventions that directly touch lives.
The enrollment and distribution exercise underscore the Kaduna State Government’s multi-sectoral approach to tackling poverty and strengthening community resilience through strategic partnerships and local initiatives.
