Governor Uba Sani has announced a comprehensive list of fresh appointments across key sectors of Kaduna State’s public service, reaffirming his administration’s resolve to promote merit, professionalism, and inclusive governance.
The Governor said the decision was driven by the need to bring innovative and resourceful minds into the state’s administrative structure people with the vision, expertise, and integrity to contribute meaningfully to Kaduna’s socio-economic transformation.
He emphasized that the appointments were carefully considered, reflecting a balance of experience, regional representation, gender inclusion, and professional diversity. The new appointees, he said, are expected to help actualize his administration’s reform agenda anchored on education, economic empowerment, institutional efficiency, and social justice.
A BROAD-BASED TEAM OF EXPERIENCED PROFESSIONALS
In total, 34 new appointments were approved by the Governor, cutting across education, media, vocational training, agriculture, environment, law, mining, and public service management.

KEY APPOINTEES AND THEIR TRACK RECORDS
Dr. Suwaiba Shehu Ibrahim, Mni – Executive Chairman, Kaduna State Senior Secondary Schools Education Board
Dr. Suwaiba Shehu Ibrahim is a scholar, administrator, and reform advocate with a rich academic and administrative background. A Ph.D. holder in Business Administration, she is an alumna of the National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies (NIPSS), Kuru, and a former Permanent Secretary at the Kaduna State Teachers Service Board. She has also served as a lecturer at Kaduna State University, where she mentored students in business and management disciplines.
Governor Sani described her as a “proven reformist” whose appointment is expected to accelerate ongoing reforms in the state’s education sector.
Hon. Nita Byack George – Permanent Member, KADSSSEB
A development strategist and filmmaker, Hon. Nita George is widely recognized for her humanitarian work and peace advocacy. A former Sole Administrator of Jaba Local Government, she brings vast experience in local governance, gender inclusion, and social policy. Her portfolio includes leading roles in both local and international organizations focused on health financing, peacebuilding, and youth empowerment.
Hon. Monday Tela Bako – Permanent Member, KADSSSEB
A retired public servant, Hon. Bako spent over two decades in the Kaduna State Civil Service and the Public Complaints Commission, where he championed accountability and citizen engagement. His expertise in education management and policy implementation is expected to complement the Board’s reform objectives.
Hon. Phoebe Sukai Yayi – Deputy Provost, Institute of Vocational Training and Skills Development (Samarun Kataf Campus)
With close to 40 years of public service experience, Phoebe Yayi has held multiple senior positions, including Commissioner of the Kafanchan Municipal Authority and Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Education. Her deep understanding of education management, disaster preparedness, and human resource planning makes her a strategic addition to the state’s skills development framework.
Engr. Muhammad Sulaiman – Deputy Provost, Soba Campus
An engineer and administrator, Engr. Sulaiman brings both technical expertise and leadership experience. As a former Executive Chairman of Sabon Gari Local Government, he is known for implementing grassroots infrastructure projects and promoting local capacity development.
Mallam El-Said Yakubu Lere – Board Chairman, Kaduna State Media Corporation (KSMC)
Lere is a respected journalist, media consultant, and pioneer of Liberty Radio Kaduna. He previously served as Executive Director (Radio) of KSMC and as Assistant Press Secretary to the Kaduna State Government. His return to the state media corporation marks a renewed focus on strengthening public communication and information dissemination.
Zakari Aliyu – Executive Director, KSMC
A broadcast journalist with decades of newsroom experience, Zakari Aliyu is expected to bring energy and modernization to KSMC’s operations. His background in multi-platform journalism and content production positions him to drive innovation in state media.
Hon. Gambo Mathew Bulus – Board Chairman, KADA
An economist and policy analyst, Hon. Bulus has served as Executive Chairman and Vice Chairman of Lere Local Government. His appointment underscores the administration’s focus on revitalizing the agricultural sector as a major driver of employment and rural growth.
Murjanatu Sulaiman Shika – Special Adviser, Vocational Training and Skills Development
Murjanatu Shika is a scholar and gender advocate known for her work in women’s empowerment, leadership, and policy reform. Before her appointment, she was the Executive Director of Women Connect Initiative and a lecturer at Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria. Her role is expected to strengthen vocational and skills-based programs across the state, especially for youth and women.

He further emphasized that the new team would play a key role in advancing his administration’s priorities-revitalizing education, promoting job creation, improving infrastructure, and ensuring social justice across the state.
“Kaduna State must continue to be a model of governance that delivers for its citizens. We will strengthen institutions, empower our youth, and expand opportunities for all,” he added.
